This Department caters to the Kidney related problems including dialysis and renal transplant follow-ups. The department is a well equipped Hemo-dialysis Unit with 5 latest NIPRO/fresenious Japanese-make machines. Water for dialysis is provided by Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. A facility for bicarbonate dialysis is available in three shifts with arrangement to provide emergency dialysis round the clock and a separate dedicated machine for critically ill patients is available in ICUs for bedside dialysis.

• The dialysis is managed by residents round the clock.
• The Department has also facilities for initiating patients for Continuous Ambulatory Pentoneal Dialysis (CAPD).
• In addition, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is being done.
• A significant number of patients of Post Kidney Transplant have been visiting the Department for follow-up at NMH.
